Profile
Mathilde Cassou
Following a MSc in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford, Mathilde Cassou (elle/she/ella) is joining the Centre of Genomics and Policy (CGP) as an Academic Associate. She also holds a MA in bioethics from Université de Montréal, which focused on the ethical issues surrounding the implementation of first-tier expanded NIPT in Canada (Project PEGASUS-2). Mathilde’s research interests are wide-ranging but focus on the legal, ethical and social issues arising at the beginning of life, notably in prenatal and preconception genetic screening, as well as their implications for global fertility mobility (reproductive tourism). Through her involvement in various research projects, she has developed an expertise in qualitative methods, particularly with marginalized and/or vulnerable populations. Mathilde also acts as bilingual copy editor for the Canadian Journal of Bioethics.
